Allagash Grand Cru Now On Tap!

New Beer Alert!! We just tapped Allagash Brewing Co.’s Grand Cru!

Allagash Brewing Co., located in Portland, Maine, was started in 1995 by founder Rob Tod. Tod noticed the growing prevalence of German and British style beers in the US, but found that Belgian styles were harder to find, so he decided to focused on these traditional styles. Since then, Allagash has produced six year round releases and a number of seasonal beers, and has expanded on traditional brewing techniques. All of the beers Alllagash produces are bottle conditioned, which means that a second fermentation occurs after the beer is bottled, producing a notable increase in carbonation, a softer feel and remarkable complexity.

Allagash’s Grand Cru is a seasonal winter release. It’s classified as a Belgian Strong Dark Ale (7.2% ABV), brewed with a touch of peated malt and spiced with coriander, sweet orange peel and a hint of anise. It is deep golden in color, full bodied and has hints of smoke and licorice in the taste and aroma. The malty, warming finish is perfect for colder weather. This beer is rated 92 on Beeradvocate.com, earning it an “exceptional” rank.

We are offering Grand Cru for $7.50/pint or $28/pitcher.
