This month’s Wine Taste & Talk, hosted by Midtown Monthly writer Michele Hebert, will be on Tuesday, January 17th from 7:00-8:00 PM.

January’s wine special isĀ Chateau Carbonneau 2009 Bordeaux “Classique” ($6/glass). Here’s what Michele had to say about this wine:
“At last month’s tasting I talked to a charming British women who lamented the rise in alcohol levels in wine. She inspired me to choose for this month’s wine special, a very light-bodied and refreshing petite chateau Bordeaux, or “claret” as they say in England. Most Bordeaux wines have been turned into overblown concoctions that would please Robert Parker’s palate, but certainly not mine. Instead, I prefer this simple old-fashioned beauty, seemingly caught in a commercial time warp. Made from Cabernet Franc and Merlot in the southeast village of St. Foy.”
